Used for communicating the following hazards:
This hazard category is not mandatory, and labeling is not required. Those who wish to label for aquatic toxicity can specify either "Acute" or "Chronic" hazard levels.
Acute: This category has 3 sub-categories (levels 1, 2, and 3) each specifying harm to fish, crustacea, and algea or other aquatic plant life.
Chronic: This catgeory is for hazardous chemicals that are "not readily degradable." Levels 1, 2, and 3 match up with the Acute hazards for classification; level 4 is added for items that are not degradable but have no acute hazard.
